Se-Young Jo, PhD
Se-Young joined the lab in February 2025 as a postdoctoral research fellow.
He received his B.S. in Biology from Yonsei University and his Ph.D. in Medical Science from Yonsei University College of Medicine in Seoul, Korea. During his doctoral research in Dr. Sangwoo Kim’s lab, he focused on cancer genomics, with an emphasis on analyzing various types cancer genomes, understanding disease mechanisms, and developing diagnostic and therapeutic biomarkers with clinical potential. His Ph.D. thesis focused on developing a computational tool to detect allele-specific expression by integrating DNA and RNA sequencing data.
In the Lee Lab, Se-Young’s research interests center on developing novel computational methods for analyzing advanced sequencing data. He aims to create tools that can be used by both researchers and clinicians to improve disease diagnosis and uncover new pathological mechanisms.
