Graduate Student in the Program in Neuroscience
Jasper uses large-volume electron microscopy to reconstruct the neural circuits in adult Drosophila that control the fly's legs. He hopes that this research will ultimately enable roboticists to reverse-engineer the neural circuits that control walking and other complex limb movements. Previously, Jasper recieved his B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis, where he majored in neuroscience and mathematics. He also spent a year before graduate school as a math tutor in a high-need high school on the northwest side of Chicago. In his free time, Jasper coaches the Harvard table tennis team.
