Dr. Burleson presented his SSD research at the American Auditory Society (AAS) Annual Conference
Post-doctoral research fellow from the Emerging Auditory Research Lab at Massachusetts Eye and Ear (MEE), Dr. Andrew Burleson, presented his work titled, "Spatial Benefit of Hearing Devices for Single-Sided Deafness (SSD)" at the annual AAS conference in Scottsdale, AZ. This work stemmed from a productive collaboration between MEE and Boston Children's Hospital focused on the creation of a clinical protocol for spatial speech-in-nose testing for asymmetric listeners. While this project focused on adult SSD listeners, the Audiology Research Lab is nearing completion of a large dataset of pediatric listeners - stay tuned!
