Selin Ozcan, BSc

Graduate Intern Student
PhD Candidate

Selin is an alumni graduate student and a PhD mentee at Dr. Tamilia's lab. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, as well as a Master of Science in Neuroscience.

Selin was an intern in Tamilia's Lab over the summer of 2024 and is now pursuing her PhD in Biomedical Engineering at Bogazici University in Turkey, with Dr. Tamilia serving as co-Advisor. Within Dr. Tamilia's lab, Selin's work was centered on mapping high-frequency oscillation (HFO) networks, with the aim of predicting surgical outcomes in patients with drug-resistant epilepsy. Selin has a keen interest in source estimation, brain connectivity, and the application of graph theory within her PhD studies. Her interdisciplinary approach aims to advance our understanding of complex neurological conditions.

In the past, she has contributed to a variety of research projects involving magnetoencephalography (MEG) and diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) analysis, alongside performing advanced statistical brain mapping techniques during her education. In addition, her recent research focuses on a government-funded project titled "Detection of Epileptogenic Zone Using 3D Sanification in Drug-Resistant Epilepsy."
