Research Assistant
Enrique is a research assistant with an interest in computational biology. He graduated from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education in Mexico with a B.S. in Mechatronics Engineering. He studies how genetic and environmental factors interact and contribute to human disease, using methods ranging from statistical genetics to metagenomics. He mainly focuses on better understanding the contribution of rare and common genetic variants in patients with congenital heart disease to help improve diagnosis. His interests lie in the intersection of computer science, mathematics, physics, and biology. He is passionate about applying science to medicine to improve people's health.
