Clinical Research Assistant
Sophia is a recent graduate of UCLA with a B.S. in Biochemistry. She is currently a Clinical Research Assistant in the Morton Lab, where her primary project, GEMSTone, investigates hypertonia and its associated pediatric diagnoses through genetic testing. She also contributes to the NICU Biobank, which collects and studies biological samples to support research on rare pediatric diseases, and the Cardiac Neurodevelopmental Outcome Collaborative, which examines developmental outcomes in patients with congenital heart disease. In the future, Sophia plans to attend medical school and pursue a career as a physician-scientist in pediatrics.
